MGM Resorts Signs a Partnership Deal with Boston Red Sox

MGM Resorts revealed in a new press release that this Las Vegas-based company became an “official and exclusive resort casino” of Boston baseball team, the Red Sox.

This merge of a gambling giant and the winner of the 2018 MLB World Series is just an extension of the previous deal when MGM became the MLB league’s official gaming partner.

Details of the Deal

Partnering up with Boston Red Sox will bring MGM Resorts a marketing position behind home plate, on Red Sox radio…

…as well as on other media outlets that are controlled by this baseball team.

This company from Nevada will also receive exclusive access to “one-of-a-kind fan experiences” at Fenway Park, the home of the Boston Red Sox.

The plan for MGM Springfield is to host various promotions this year, and it will also be the main location for the Baseball Winter Weekend event, which is organized and held every January by the Red Sox.

During this event, fans will be able to meet and greet Red Sox leaders, take a photo or get an autograph from players…

…as well as discussions about baseball-related themes.

MGM Resorts CEO Thrilled about the Deal

“We are excited to enter into this historic partnership with the Boston Red Sox. Combining the two iconic brands of the Red Sox and MGM Resorts will create a new one-of-a-kind fan experience for baseball fans unique to not only New England and MGM Springfield, but the rest of the country,” Chairman and CEO of MGM Resorts, Jim Murren, said.

“We look forward to continuing our work and partnerships in the world of professional sports and building on our success as a worldwide entertainment leader,” he added.

A Word from a Red Sox CEO

“This is such a natural partnership for our two brands. MGM has set the standard in the hospitality and entertainment industry and their recent expansion into the Commonwealth makes them a clear partner. We are thrilled to welcome them to the Red Sox family and look forward to a long collaboration,” President and CEO of Red Sox, Sam Kennedy said about the new partnership with MGM Resorts International, that was recently named one of the best employers for diversity.

It looks that the main culprit for this deal was marketing company, Fenway Sports Management, which works primarily on “partnership sales, consulting, and the creation of unique and memorable events and experiences.”

Because of this deal, the new MGM logo will be placed around the home of the Boston Red Sox, Fenway Park…

…and the plan is to launch some VIP promotions in the future as well.

More Sports Deals for MGM

Just last month, MGM Resorts International signed a deal with Sacramento Kings together with software company, Xperiel.

Both of these companies will provide Sacramento fans with new incentives thanks to the Real World Web platform that increases the engagement with the free-to-play gaming experience.

“We are very excited about the opportunity to partner with the Kings to become their exclusive presenting partner for the Call the Shot game. MGM Resorts looks forward to this unique opportunity to innovate free-to-play gaming and provide fans with a one-of-a-kind entertainment experience,” President of interactive gaming at MGM, Scott Butera, said.
