In partnership with the German online portal for statistics, Statista, world-famous American business magazine, Forbes, amassed the ultimate list of 500 best large employers in the United States for the year 2019.
Statista has headquarters in Hamburg and makes data collected by market and opinion research institutes and data derived from the economic sector and official statistics available in English, French, German and Spanish.
Every year since 2015, Forbes has been partnering up with Statista to make ultimate lists on the best employers in the US as well as in the rest of the world by surveying their employees.
Thanks to Statista, this list was assembled after surveying over 50,000 employees from 25 different business industries…
…and this year, MGM Resorts International was definitely a leader in the “Travel and Leisure” industry.
Other companies from the hospitality sector that were included in this huge list are: Hilton Hotels (spot number 65), Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts (78), Hyatt Hotels (144), Marriott International (124) and Wynn Resorts (207)
“As a customer focused company, we realize how crucial employee engagement is to the success of our mission to provide a superior guest experience. Our workforce consists of amazingly talented and dedicated people who understand the value of treating our guests and each other with fundamental respect and dignity,” Phyllis A. James, Chief Diversity & Corporate Responsibility Officer for MGM Resorts International said in an official statement.
“We invest in many initiatives to development and advancement of our team , such as our College Opportunity Program which allows eligible employees the opportunity to enroll in designated online degree or certificate programs at any Nevada System of Higher Education college or university, without having to worry about the cost. We greatly appreciate the honor this recognition represents,” James added.
Since year 2016, MGM has been actively working on the evolution of its employee management throughout new programs and platforms…
…which include an awards-based employee recognition platform called, Applause, upward appraisals for managers, as well as an improved online-based communications portal that gives employees the opportunity to engage each other and stay informed about company news.
All MGM employees who were surveyed by the magazine had to answer to their questions online and completely anonymously. Employers, on the other hand, had no influence over the selection of the survey participants.
The employees were asked to recommend the company they work for on a scale of 0 to 10, their opinion on the working conditions, salary…
…as well as on the potential for their career development and company image.
MGM, which recently became the first official betting partner of Major League Soccer, is an American global hospitality and entertainment company operating destination resorts in Detroit, Las Vegas, Mississippi, Maryland, and New Jersey…
…including the world-famous Bellagio, Mandalay Bay, MGM Grand, and The Mirage.
The company most recently opened MGM National Harbor in Maryland and MGM Springfield in Massachusetts. It has a majority interest in MGM China Holdings Limited, which owns the MGM Macau resort and casino, and is developing a gaming resort in Cotai.
MGM Resorts owns 50% of CityCenter in Las Vegas, which features Aria Resort & Casino.

This doesn’t surprise me at all because MGM has been proving for years that it is one of the top companies in the world.
