The Louisiana Gaming Control Board released its February gaming revenue report, showing total earnings of $198.2 million, reflecting a 2% year-over-year increase. The New Orleans gaming market saw the most significant growth, posting a 24% revenue jump, largely due to an 81.6% rise at Treasure Chest Casino in Kenner.
The New Orleans district led all markets in February, driven by notable growth at Treasure Chest Casino, which saw an 81.6% revenue increase. Caesars New Orleans also contributed, while overall revenue in the district climbed 24%.
Excluding Treasure Chest and Caesars New Orleans, land-based casino revenue saw a 5% decline compared to the previous year.
Online sports betting continued its upward trend, generating $51.3 million in revenue—a 69% increase from February 2024. The total handle reached $356 million, marking a 41% rise.
Properties in the Lake Charles region brought in $69.6 million, nearly flat from last year with a slight 0.3% dip. Golden Nugget Lake Charles posted revenue of $24.8 million, up just 0.1%, while L’Auberge Casino Resort earned $24.7 million, reflecting a 0.7% gain. Delta Downs Racetrack Casino Hotel reported a decline, with revenue falling 7.3% to $13.6 million.
The district recorded $59.1 million in gaming revenue. Caesars New Orleans in Louisiana saw a 28.8% increase, reaching $30.7 million. Treasure Chest Casino generated $12.5 million, and Boomtown Casino & Hotel earned $10 million, reflecting a 6.8% gain.
The Shreveport/Bossier City market experienced a downturn, with total revenue dropping 14.8% year-over-year to $41 million. Margaritaville Resort Casino posted $14.7 million, a decrease of 11.9%. Horseshoe Bossier City saw revenue fall 18.5% to $8.6 million, while Bally’s Shreveport Casino & Hotel earned $8.3 million, down 12.1%.
Baton Rouge properties brought in $22.6 million, reflecting a slight 0.8% decrease. L’Auberge Casino Hotel led with $13.8 million, down 7.6%. The Queen of Baton Rouge saw gains, reaching $8.3 million, an increase of 14.8%. The Belle of Baton Rouge saw a sharp decline, reporting only $0.5 million, a 19.5% drop.
Evangeline Downs Racetrack & Casino in St. Landry Parish reported $5.9 million in revenue, reflecting a 4.2% decline compared to February 2024.
