Last year, Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck got a divorce after Garner became fed up with her husband’s blackjack habit and infidelity. But the former Alias star is willing to reunite with Affleck under the condition that he stops gambling.
According to the National Enquirer, the two are rekindling their romance, but she’s very serious about the no-gambling condition.
“Ben’s gambling habit was probably Jen’s biggest complaint aside from the womanizing,” an insider told the Enquirer. “This was a huge issue for them, but at least Ben is towing the line. Even with those dimples, Jen can be ferocious!”
As of now, Affleck is doing a good job of following Garner’s new rule. He’s also going to church regularly with her and their three children. And the 41-year-old actor better stick to what he’s doing in order to make their relationship work.
“She’s told Ben the moment he sets foot in a casino again he can kiss their relationship goodbye for good,” the source said.
Back in 2014, it was revealed that Affleck is a card counting guru who’s so good that the Hard Rock Casino asked him to leave the tables. He confirmed the story in an interview with Details Magazine.
“I took some time to learn the game and became a decent blackjack player,” he told Details. “And once I became decent, the casinos asked me not to play blackjack. I mean, the fact that being good at the game is against the rules at the casinos should tell you something about casinos.”
Affleck added, “They don’t even want you to have a sporting chance, really. There’s a lot of hospitality, backslapping, when they think you’re gonna come in and dump money, and if they think you might leave with some money, it’s like, “You know what? Why don’t you try craps or roulette?”
Unfortunately for Affleck, Garner was less than impressed with his card counting acumen. She reportedly showed disgust when he was kicked off the Hard Rock blackjack tables and asked to play roulette instead.
Affleck continued his ionate hobby, getting kicked out of more casinos in Detroit while filming Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Garner eventually had enough and demanded a divorce.
It’ll be interesting to see if Affleck has now given up his gambling ion and will remain committed to Garner’s new rules.
