The GB Gambling Commission has designed a new service that enables personal license holders to securely manage their s online and via portable devices. The convenient service is available on the regulator’s website, and it allows those holders to change the data efficiently, report key events linked to their certificate and e-copies of them as well.
According to the Commission, the processing tool included in the service will help to cut down the processing period from several weeks to only a matter of days.
In the meantime, the Commission has reminded personal license holders that if they began a maintenance application before 26 November 2019 via its existing portal, but did not complete this process, they will need to re- and apply again.
The new service has only been running for a matter of weeks and already gathers over 4,000 s. The processing time has improved by 80%. Moreover, half of those clients have used a mobile device to access the portal, which allowed them to manage their personal certificates on the go, save time and improve their experience.
As far as the Commission’s executive director Helen Venn stressed out:
“Listening to the needs of personal licence holders has been vital. Through their , and our own drive to continuously improve the way we regulate, we looked in detail at our licence management processes and set ourselves the challenge to cut down on istration by using technology and our systems more effectively.”
The Commission designed a new set of rules as well, which aim to tighten standards for alternative dispute resolution (ADR) and consumer interaction.
Starting October 31…
…modifications to the UKGC’s License Conditions and Codes of Practice (LC) have come into effect. ADR providers who do not comply with these standards will not be considered certified suppliers for gambling license holders. The suggestions for modifications were introduced in August, striving to improve the transparency of funding for research, prevention, and treatment.
ing forces with the Swedish regulator, Spelinspektionen, the United Kingdom Gambling Commission signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) whose main goal is to enhance and deepen the collaboration and effectiveness of the two regulators.
The Memorandum aims to promote a common understanding of legitimate interests…
… as well as the provision of operation assistance. Among numerous agreed points, the bodies should pay attention to the occasional revision of the Memorandum to evaluate the effectiveness of their operations.
The agreement between the two regulators has been in effect since November 11.
