DraftKings' Sportsbook Goes Live in Mississippi

DraftKings' Sportsbook Goes Live in Mississippi

After being brought to a halt in the state of New York, major daily fantasy sports operator, New Jersey.

The bookmaker has reached a deal with the Scarlet Pearl Casino Resort in D’Iberville, allowing it to go live with the latest brand ‘Draftkings at Scarlet Pearl Sportsbook’. Prior to the opening, DraftKings received a gambling license from the state regulator.

An Impressive Broadcast of Sports Events

According to the report, the new sportsbook will be overseen by Nicholas Sfanos, Station Casino veteran. The shop will also be equipped with an incredibly large array of TVs and big-screen monitors for broadcasting, while live in-play betting will soon be added to the overall offer.

In addition, the venue will include “automated betting kiosks” and an “on-premise” mobile betting app. To date, online wagering is still not available in Mississippi, and online services will have to wait for an additional regulatory approval.

Rapidly growing eGaming software developer, SBTech, is probably going to supply the newly launched platform, as it already caters products to several betting kiosks at Churchill Downs Inc.

Despite being one of the first businesses to launch mobile wagering in New Jersey, DraftKings’ biggest rival company, FanDuel, already expanded its services in other states, whereby Mississippi’s licensed sports betting companies amassed $31.8 million in wagers this month.

Sports Betting In Rhode Island To Commence Around Thanksgiving

Sports betting enthusiasts in the U.S. have recently had an opportunity to welcome another great deal, as William Hill partnered International Game Technology (IGT) in Rhode Island. The state government is however reluctant and wagering at Twin River Casino will not start before Thanksgiving or around November 22nd. The next venue in line is Tiverton Hotel & Casino, commencing its services in the following period.

Important to realize is that the state approved wagering in Spring 2018, with an estimated revenue of $23.5m. Still, the slower-than-expected launch of legal betting shops has forced the government to cut this budget by $12m. Luckily, the territory’s video slots and table games are performing above the average.
