Stoke-based betting and online gambling behemoth, Bet365, has announced in an official press release that work on the company’s new in-house Kubernetes cluster is complete.
Developed by the Group’s team of engineers and programming experts at Hillside Technology, the new platform will host its first containerized production application. It will usher in the new phase of development for the next-generation sports betting platform…
…as it is currently in its first stage of construction. It consists of a simple set of production clusters running the authentication module for the streamlining of Italian horse racing that serves as testing grounds.
Head of sports Development at Hillside Technology, Alan Reed, comments: “Italian horse racing is the perfect test case. We needed a candidate that was malleable enough, atomic enough and portable enough to demonstrate we could make Kubernetes work.”
Kubernetes is a t effort by divisions for infrastructure and sports development. Hillside Technology is bet365’s subsidiary for technical innovation and deployment.
Hillside’s principle infrastructure architect, James Nightingale, says:
“It’s early days but we believe that Kubernetes has the potential to be a game changer for bet365. It promises to increase the speed at which we can spin up production environments, while at the same time, delivering a highly malleable deployment mechanism that will enable sports development to rapidly release code.”
Late last year, the brand reported a huge surge of annual income…
…as bet profits soared 28% higher than last year to a total of £2.86 billion. Bet365’s sports betting and iGaming products and services performed particularly well during the 12-month period and were the key factors contributing to these historic figures.
Throughout the entire year, around 160,000 live sport events were streamed and in-play betting proved most popular with punters as it ed for 77% of entire sports revenue.
Around the same time the annual revenue figures were revealed, Bet365 announced its entry into the regulated market of Denmark via a deal with Realistic…
…which, according to the of agreement, will “facilitate both companies growth strategies in this country.” The two brands already have an established cooperation in the United Kingdom.
Bet365’s spokesperson commented:
“We’re delighted to be entering the market in tandem with Realistic and are excited by the opportunities that it presents us both. Their games are proven performers around the world and we’re anticipating that they will be well-received in Denmark too.”
