Bet365 Revenue Soars to Over £2 Billion In Last Year

It’s happy days at Bet365! The UK’s major gambling and sports betting operator has just announced their revenue figures for the past 12 months and they are staggering – according to the fiscal report, they’ve made a total of £2.15 billion – an increase of 30% in gross revenue over the previous reporting period! Operating profits have also increased more than 10% between March 2016 and March 2017.

What is the secret behind the casino’s financial success? It comes down to several main points. As Denise Coates, the company’s cofounder puts it, last year’s major soccer tournament, EURO 2016 (hosted by , won by Portugal), is a primary reason for the 27% increase in sports betting. Main kudos for this goes to in-play gambling features: live betting s for 72% of total sports betting – with 61% of that originating from mobile devices. Also, it is certain that sponsorship investments in the English Premier League (they are the main sponsors of several soccer teams, including top-flight Stoke City) played a huge role in this momentous achievement.

Other notable figures point out that the company’s number of active players rose another 35% and pre-tax profits were up to £514 million. The Group is licensed in countries such as Italy, Spain, Denmark, Australia and Ireland, besides being licensed in UK.

Addressing the new gaming measures they’ve implemented, Coats noted: “The group is committed to developing an evidence-based approach to responsible gambling; to this end, the group continues to work with research partners on a number of projects to improve its methods of identifying harmful play and deliver more effective harm-minimisation interventions. The group has also invested in the development of its own predictive algorithms in order to improve the accuracy and reach of existing measures. The scope and reach of Bet365’s predictive system has been expanded with the addition of new markers of potential harm.”
