Notably, cumulative tribal contributions to the Instructional Improvement Fund have now sured $1 billion, demonstrating the significant and ongoing impact of tribal gaming on education and communities across Arizona.”
The Arizona Benefits Fund, which receives 88% of tribal gaming contributions, is vital to several key public services. Since the Tribal-State Gaming Compact was established, the funds have provided essential for areas such as education, tourism, emergency services, and wildlife conservation. With total contributions nearing $2.3 billion since FY 2004, tribal gaming has proven to be a consistent and important revenue source for the state.

Currently, Arizona is home to 25 Class III casinos, which are operated under the oversight of the ADG in collaboration with tribal partners. These casinos contribute a portion of their gross gaming revenues to local municipalities, such as cities, towns, and counties, ensuring that the economic benefits of tribal gaming reach communities across the state.
Since its establishment in 1995, the ADG has played a crucial role in regulating tribal gaming, ensuring that the industry remains fair, transparent, and beneficial to Arizona’s residents. Beyond its regulatory responsibilities, the ADG also promotes education, prevention, and treatment programs for problem gambling through its Division of Problem Gambling. This division operates a confidential, 24-hour helpline for those in need of assistance, further demonstrating the state’s commitment to ing individuals affected by gambling-related issues.
The overall growth in both sports betting and tribal gaming in Arizona contributions underscores the positive economic impact of regulated gaming in Arizona.
