The Stars Group and Fox Sport’s t sports betting endeavor, Fox Bet, has become Major League Baseball’s (MLB) official gaming partner for the US market.
According to the of the deal, Fox Bet will gain the rights to use the official data feed belonging to MLB, as well as trademarks for its real-money wagering mobile app and Fox Sports Super 6 free-to-play product.
The two brands will also work on developing responsible gaming controls in order to keep players safe from harm…
…and furthermore, they will work on new, superior practices to keep MLB games’ integrity.
Kenny Gersh, MLB’s executive vice president of gaming and new business, said that this deal would ensure that players have a choice of partners in the market. FanDuel and MGM Resorts have already become League’s official partners following the lift of the federal ban on sports gambling.
The League’s data and stats will be free for The Stars Group to use and “build unique and engaging gaming products” that are based around baseball.
Fox Bet’s US presence will be further strengthened by this deal, as it was already launched in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. The Fox Sports Super 6 game which is already available nationwide was ed almost 300,000 times in only ten days after the launch.
According to Fox Bet’s CEO, Robin Chabra:
“We continue to see a great appetite for the FOX Bet app as well as FOX Sports Super 6. Having a partnership with MLB enables us to use official MLB data and league marks, providing a better experience for our customers and comes just in time as the League Championship Series and the World Series kick into high gear.”
The contract between MLB and Fox Bet was signed before October 22nd which is when 2019 World Series begins.
As a reminder, MGM’s partnership with MLB came through as a result of MGM’s Roar Digital t venture with GVC Holdings from Isle of Man. DraftKings’ and FanDuel’s experience and prowess in fantasy sports enabled them their positioning for becoming MLB’s partner.
US sports betting scene was extremely active since last year’s PASPA ban. This Fox Bet’s entry to MLB’s Authorized Gaming Operator program will surely stir even more similar deals in weeks to come. The deal is multi-year in nature, unfortunately, no financial details of were disclosed yet.
The Stars Group has recently announced an $11 billion merger with Flutter Entertainment.

MLB is serious about sports betting, I like that. They don’t hold back out of being careful like some other leagues.
