UKGC Halts EveryMatrix’s Operation; Review Instigated

The United Kingdom Gambling Commission (UKGC) decided to suspend EveryMatrix’s operating license with immediate effect. In addition to this, The Commission prompted a review into the online gaming software supplier, stating that that the decision was based on compliance activity, including an examination of its customer interaction framework.

The regulator also clarified that suspension does not apply to EveryMatrix’s activities related to manufacturing, supplying, installing or adapting gambling software. The company will be allowed to carry on with such activities until further notice.

Without Specific Details About the Decision

Following the announcement of the suspension…

…the regulator cited section 118(2) Gambling Act 2005. As stated, the Commission has the permission to suspend a certificate to investigate the business in question if there are suspicions that certain conditions apply.

The conditions include a licensed activity having been carried out in a manner inconsistent with the following licensing objectives:

  • a licensee has failed to cooperate with a review
  • a licensee having been deemed unsuitable to carry on the licensed activities
  • a condition of the license having been breached

The Commission did not disclose any further details about the reasoning behind its decision but did state that the brand will have the permission to settle ante-post wagers that were placed before the suspension. The company will also be able to facilitate customers’ accessing their s so that they could withdraw funds.

No Bets Will Be Accepted

As a response to the ruling…

As far as the supplier’s statement says:

“During this period EveryMatrix will continue to deliver a fair and safe experience to its players. All players will be able to access their s and withdraw any funds held in it at any time. Ante-post bets will be honored, so if you have placed bets on future events these will be paid out as usual if they become winning bets.”
